Man charged with murder after woman critically injured at Casino home

A man has been charged with murder and a woman has died after she was found critically injured at a home in Casino this morning, Saturday, June 29.

Police attended a home on Johnston Street, Casino, about 2.30am following reports of a concern for welfare.

Officers rendered first aid to a woman – believed to be aged in her 40s – who had head injuries. She died at the scene.

A 31 year old man who police allege was known to the woman was arrested at the home and taken to Lismore Police Station where he has been charged with one count of murder.

The Casino man has been refused bail and will face Lismore Bail Court tomorrow, Sunday, June 30.
