The Urbenville SES crew has been busy today clearing debris from roads after a huge storm last night, Tuesday, January 3.

There was significant damage in the Urbenville to Woodenbong area after the destructive storm ripped through the region.

There were gusts of up to 120kmh and many trees came down.

Kyogle Council crews were busy too clearing roads in the Woodenbong area after the violent storm.

While a fair mess remains, Boomi Creek Road is the only road left closed, Kyogle Council said.

It is expected to be re-opened sometime tomorrow, Thursday, January 5.

Woodenbong RFS helped Urbenville SES free a family trapped by fallen trees at their property near Lindsay Creek.

The crews cleared the track and got out of the bush before the next storm rolled through earlier today.

The Bureau of Meteorology said another thunderstorm was likely this afternoon and evening, possibly severe with damaging winds, large hail and possible heavy falls on and east of the ranges.
