Teen charged with murder after stabbing at KFC brawl

A teenage boy has been charged with murder following the death of a youth and the wounding of a man in a brawl at a fast food restaurant in Centre St, Casino yesterday, Sunday, May 29.

Emergency services were called to the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant at about 5.10pm yesterday.

When officers and paramedics arrived they found youths with stab wounds.

A 17-year-old boy died at the scene. An 18-year-old man was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment. He remains there in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and forensically examined by specialist police.

Following inquiries, a teenage boy, also aged 17, was arrested on Diary Street at Casino at 7.45pm.

He was taken to Casino Police Station where he was charged with murder, reckless wounding and affray.

The youth has been refused bail to appear at a Children’s Court today, Monday, May 30.

An incident at Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Casino today, Sunday May 29 has led to the death of a teenager.

Emergency services were called to the fast-food restaurant on Centre St, just after 5.10pm after reports of a stabbing.

When officers and paramedics arrived, they found two teenage boys suffering stab wounds.

They were treated at the scene. One of the teens died. He is yet to be formally identified.

The second has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries are underway to locate a man armed with a knife who was seen fleeing the scene.
