Commemorate Remembrance Day at local services

Across the nation, there is a one-minute silence at 11am on November 11 each year to remember those who died for Australia’s cause in all wars and armed conflicts.

Here are details of services and commemorations for Remembrance Day this Saturday.

Casino RSL sub branch

There will be a bugle call and flag protocols at the Mafeking Lamp at the roundabout on Walker and Barker streets. The service starts at 10.50am.

At the same time, there is a full service at the Drill Hall Memorial.

Refreshments and fellowship at the Casino RSM Club afterwards.

Woodburn Evans Head RSL sub-branch

There will be a small service at the cenotaph next to the Woodburn Evans Head RSL Club at 10.30am followed by a minute’s silence at 11am. Then at 11.15am there will refreshments and fellowship at Club Evans.

Kyogle RSL sub-branch

The cenotaph is in Kyogle’s Memorial Park and a service will commence at 11am.

Bonalbo RSL sub-branch

At Patrick McNamee Anzac Memorial Park for the laying of wreaths at 11am. The Diggers Motorbike Club will be at the service and are staying at the Bonalbo Dog n Bull. Lunch and dinner available at the pub.

Tabulam

The service is at the Light Horse Memorial in Tabulam at 10.50am.
